I received an email the market supply how shopping was asked to drop my stuff and leave immediately but no reason from the security guard managers first words words didn't care this was in front of numerous people and he would not give me a reason you just would not give me one and given the experience that I never went through in my life and he seemed to be shocked about the stuff that was in my hand that was about to buy he actually asked me was I going to buy all that what the *** does that even mean and this is all because of it email I received from them or let me try that was some welcome I'm looking forward to pushing on with this issue this was at the orchard supply off Alum Rock

No returns because of store closing

I purchased multiple items just a few weeks ago, thinking if they didn't work out, I would be able to return them within the time period allowed. Just saw that they are closing in October 2018 and no returns will be allowed after the first week in September, so I ran there to return my items. WELL, since I initially purchased them with store credit, I was informed that they cannot be returned AT ALL because their computers won't issue any new store credits. I asked if I could exchange for other merchandise on the spot and "no, you can't do that either"! So, now I'm stuck with things I don't want and only purchased to try and use up the store credit I had in the first place. They should have issued a warning before doing this. Since LOWES owns them and made this decision - I WILL NEVER SPEND A PENNY AT LOWES! I'm stuck with $250 worth of items I don't want! The president of Lowes can take them and shove them where the sun don't shine!!

Orchard should be ashamed there marking up instead of discounting items I bought 500 zip ties for price of $15.29 the same item is available at Lowes for $12.39 this is not a sale I would suggest no one go until it actually closes because they're marking up prices instead of marking them down Plus on your receipt it does not show the 10% discount I would suggest waiting to their clothes shop at Lowe's the prices are better

Beautiful Store

Orchard was my "Happy Place". It was just uplifting to walk around at look at their gorgeous things and to be in their beautiful garden center complete with fountains flowing, birds singing, unique garden statues and accessories. You could never go into Orchard without being warmly greeted---they also asked if you needed help---and in fact, I knew several of the salespeople by name. In Lowes, you have to hunt down someone to help you. And they are not as professional or as knowledgeable as the seasoned Orchard staff. I am going to miss the Orchard store tremendously. And I think that putting 4,000 people out of work is tragic. The smaller size of Orchard made it easier and more pleasant to shop. To just leave shoppers with these big, impersonal stores---with their "I just make minimum wage" employees---most who lack manners and expertise, is really awful. It shows the greed of companies and a move away from getting to know your shoppers. We are losing that community feel. Just awful. I am heartbroken. This new CEO shows his greed and that his choices don't make things better for shoppers or the community in general. Orchard closing will be very negative to the economy. Wish they would change their minds!!

Understaffed manager with bad attitude

Hello. I was in the woodland , ca store on Saturday may 6-2018 and couldn't find anyone besides the check out personal . So I left empty handed. I returned Sunday hoping to get the help I needed in the glass department. The only employee was over whelmed with 5 costomers. So I kept looking for another associate . Finally I found one who ignored me and just kept talking nonsense witha passerbyer and when I asked for help he had an attitude a mile wide. I asked who he was and he said I'm the manager. I mentioned yo him that his store is understaffed and his response was all you have to do is look down the main idle. I had got sbout 1/2 hour prior to seeing him. With the BIGGIST BAD ATTITUDE I HAD EVER ENCOUNTERED HE DID GRT MY PIECE OF GLASS THAT I NEEDED. The managers name is MIKE in the woodland store. What an *** and I'll never return to that store unless he is replaced. Thank you a concerned prior customer

I used to work 2 OSH. That's another story. Simply put I find it is rude that the FIRST THING most all checkout clerks spew is " ARE YOU A MEMBER ? " Or what ? I always give an unpredictable answer. Like " like with the NRA ? " Now as we know ( I have been told by my Mommy ) " they are just doin' their job. " Well then I will when I have to go to OSH continue to harass their *** or take it to a higher level.... and I should just stop there... LOWES should unhitch their financial help with OSH and let them flounder in the sea of the retail Perfect Storm....

We bought a BBQ approximately 3 years ago,,, tool it back yo Hanford store right after we bought it & told them there was a problem,,, would lite & it was leaking propane!!! They said they checked it for 2dats & it was fine!!!!!! We should have made them exchange this piece of ***!!! We are constantly filling this tank every month to two month when we only bbq in average of 1 to 2 times monthly!!!! I'm so angry that orchard should have taken this defaults product back!!!! I have & will continue to share my dissatisfied product with my Facebook friends & family!!! I was a loyal fan of Orchard Supply Hardware!!! I have to buy a new BBQ & it won't be from OSH!!!

Purchased an "Onward" 3-burner 3 years ago which we've used a few times each summer and which worked fine until this spring. Automatic lighter is dead, and manual lighting worked once and then stopped completely.

OSH staff was not interested, (dismissive, actually) and couldn't recommend a source for independent service.

They've seen the last of us.

Went to redding ca. Store and the store would not return electrical outlets in box without receipt. I do alot of construction projects never had this.problem with PR . Made me late and had to go back home to get original reciept . Rediculous Profucts were in original bags undesterbed.

Bad communication and inventory keeping

Went to our local OSH for the second time to buy a shelf unit for the garage (first time they were "out") We were told none in stock but another OSH (Livermore ) had 6 in stock. We went to that store the next day and were told at the register that they had none in stock and we had been "misinformed" by the first store. We waited 30 minutes for the sales floor clerk to go check the "back" and still no shelf unit. We then had to order the unit and call back (shouldn't they be calling US?) to find out if it comes in. Not sure we'll ever see it but had to pay in advance which we think is probably illegal. Where is the inventory control? Fed up and very disgusted in San Leandro.

Bad Customer Service

On 8/10/2016 my husband and I went to the OSH in San Leandro, CA and bought a patio set of table and 4 chairs. When we drove around back to pick up the set in boxes it had been opened and taped back together. We went to Customer Service and spoke to a representative who said that was the only set they had besides the floor display and she "guaranteed it will be in perfect condition and have all the parts" so go ahead and take it. We really hesitated because we live 65 miles from that store and don't get down there very often. Sure enough, we got home and a leg was broken off one of the chairs! Obviously, some one returned it broken and they pawned it off on us as new. This was my first and last experience with OSH!!!! Elaine Carpenter, Laytonville, CA

Orchard Supply Loss Prevention

Be warned that if you enter the OSH located at 377 Royal in San Jose, CA, stop to look at the items on the clearance table while on the way to using the restroom, you will be under scrutiny because apparently that is considered 'suspicious' behavior. If you then proceed to note the prices of showerheads and toilet seats, followed by investigating the prices of clothespins you will be rewarded with the appearance of a OSH person who stands right beside you, feigning an interest in clothespins as well, because you have been targeted as a potential shoplifter by whatever nitwit security is working there. I suggest OSH takes heed of the fact that we have many options available to us when it comes to purchasing what we want. Being regarded with suspicion and hostility is NOT conducive to a pleasant shopping experience.

sorry that you feel this way how ever you are so wrong. the culture of these stores is to do just what happened to you .

they call it shadowing you to get you to buy something. we are told that every person who enters the store was to leave with no less than 4 items .

its not that you might be a shoplifter. behind the scenes we are constantly told to give customer service sometimes we have had people say stay the *** away from me when i need you i will call you .

I rented a carpet cleaner on 4/8/16, brought it back on 4/9/16 @11am . Went in and asked the man standing there , could i get some help taking it out? I was parked right in front in Handicap, he said all employees were busy, and it would take 10mins, to get help, i said r u serious! !!! It will take you 2 sec. To take the machine out, and i roll it in. No, he couldn't, so i went to customer service and asked the lady the same ? And she said sorry and turned around and helped some other customer! !!! So i went to the cashier in the next to customer service and a man standing there said, I'll HELP YOU! !!! i said ru a customer, he said yes, but he would Help Me!!!!! This not the first time I've had a bad experience here, i will NOT be coming back!!! i will be going to Home Depot, their employees r very helpful and so respect to their customers! !!! Iv read some of your reviews and it doesn't seem like you guys care about customer service! !!

Advertised offset patio umbrellas in their email flyer. In store only for one day. So I went to the store within 2 hours of the email, same day. My local store did not have any, never did. They checked 4 other stores, not available, did not have either. They placed an order for me for 3 umbrellas and gave me a service number. Would find out within 3 days. It is now almost two months and still no response. Called and left phone messages three times, as requested to do on their message machine. To this day I have never had any response to any of my messages. I have also sent emails, no response. Left phone messages, no response. Sent requests of response for my order number, again, no response. An absolutely terrible store to do business with. They do not seem to have any idea what good customer relations are. Do not think I will be going back any time soon.
